Valued Social Roles in Our Neighborhoods: Using SRV to Enhance Neighborhood Belonging

This is a virtual workshop, to be offered via Zoom.  Each day of the three days will offer an opportunity for participants to listen to the presenters, to reflect of the ideas they share, and to interact with each other about the application of those ideas as they work in their own neighborhoods toward greater connectivity and belonging.  Specific aims of the workshop may include:

*Refreshing participants’ understanding of Social Role Valorization (SRV) and its importance—i.e., how SRV helps in the formation and sustaining of long-term connections and relationships

*Being mindful about how we go about engaging people within their neighborhoods, perhaps in new ways

*The relationship between building neighborhood connections and promoting better service-responses for people and families who need regular assistance.

*Building courage to get started in “my” neighborhood, and assessing useful and interesting ways to begin.

We especially invite:  Families, friends, neighbors, community builders. — those who are committed to growing and sustaining “belonging” in their neighborhoods.

This worksop will be limiied to 40 participants.
