The Charting the LifeCourse Framework was created by families to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live.
Families have used it to grow ideas, explore possibilities, and build connections that empowers them to live, love, learn, work and play in their own community.
Starfire runs the Ohio Family Network (OFN) here in Southwest Ohio, and we’ll host three Training the LifeCourse sessions in April, May & June that are made possible by OFN funding:
Session 3: Integrated Star - June 13 1:30-3:00
This session introduces the Integrated Star tool and how it can help identify aspects within the context of the family to help with problem solving.
Carol Combs, Starfire Family Leadership Network, will share how using the CtLC tools support her in communicating her son's good life to his team, and how the tools helped her family solve problems to ensure that their family and community remained at the center of his good life.
Next Steps: Courageous Conversations 1:1 session following Session 3
Courses are led by Celia Schloemer, MA, Family Support Coordinator at UC’s Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Carol Combs, Starfire Family Leadership Network Coordinator will present as well.
